Swan harmonicas are great harmonicas designed to get players started with high quality harps at a reasonable price. This model is a 12 hole, 48 reed/tone chromatic harmonica in the key of C. They feature solid brass reedplates, ABS combs and sturdy chrome plated cover plates. Plays and feels like other brands costing twice the price. A chromatic harmonica is like having two harmonicas in one! Due to the slide that completely changes the notes. In the rest position (slide not depressed) the harmonica is in the key of" c", then when pushed in, the chromatic is tuned one half step to c#. This allows the chromatic to be played in any major or minor key making it an incredibly versatile instrument. The slid also allows the player to "bend" notes. The chamber of a chromatic harp is also much larger than a diatonic and creates a distinct tone that is both fuller and warmer than the smaller diatonic harmonicas. It includes a hard plastic case and was built to give you years and years of enjoyment.
